SSS Mentoring Activities are held only during the Fall Semester. Fall Semester activities are listed below:
SSS New Student Welcome
SSS mentors and mentees will meet at this event where new freshmen have a chance to get acquainted with SSS staff and other students over pizza. A scavenger hunt will help new students become familiar with various campus offices.

Team Building at the Low Ropes Course
SSS mentors and mentees will participate in some team-building activities that encourage cooperation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Activities will be no more than two or three feet above the ground.
Saturday, Sept. 6, 1:00-2:30 pm; behind Crest Wellness Center
Trip to the Guthrie Theater
Don't miss our bus trip to the Twin Cities! Mentors and mentees will chat and watch movies on the way to the famous Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, where we will attend a performance of the play The White Snake. This play is based on a Chinese fable about a gentle serpent who transforms herself into a woman and tries to live in the human world.
Sunday, Oct. 12, leave Eau Claire at 4:30 pm; performance is 7:00-9:00 pm;
arrive back in Eau Claire approximately 11:00 pm
Hmong New Year Celebration
Mentors and mentees will learn about the Hmong culture by sampling foods, playing games, seeing traditional clothing, hearing presentations, and enjoying performances. The New Year is the most popular holiday celebrated by the Hmong people.
Saturday, Nov. 8, McPhee Center; our group will attend 12:00-2:00 pm
SSS Mentors and mentees will take a break from studying and test their skill at such games as Apples to Apples, Pictionary, Taboo, and Catch Phrase. It's an opportunity to relax and have refreshments before the end-of-semester rush.
