Classroom teacher, graduate/research assistant, psychologist, paraprofessional in classroom, educational/behavioral consultant, university professor.
Instructional Interests:
Cognitive disabilities, characteristics of learning and educational needs, applied behavior analysis, behavioral challenges.
Program Responsibilities:
Department Chairperson, Coordinator of Cognitive Disabilities Licensure Program, and Interim Coordinator of Early Childhood: Special Education Licensure Program.
Professional Affiliations & Offices Held:
Council for Exceptional Children - member and President of the Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities subdivision, pre-service member-at-large of Teacher Education subdivision; American Association on Mental Retardation - member and past vice chairperson of education division.
Research & Service Interests:
Very interested in working with schools and families, involved in research about the way children with cognitive disabilities learn and use action concepts, also very interested in investigating the validity of identification procedures in the field of ADHDS.
Hobbies & Personal Interests:
Scuba diving, jogging, cross country skiing.
