 Service-Learning Non-Credit Option

Project Steps to Completion for Community Supervisors:

1) Students are responsible for contacting a community partner regarding a possible service-learning project.

2) Once a project has been established and the organization and supervisor’s contact information have been added to the Service-Learning database, the student can submit the online service-learning project form.

3) When the supervisor’s contact information has been added to the Service-Learning database, an email with a username and password is sent to the supervisor from srvlearn@uwec.edu

4) Community Supervisor Responsibilities:
    a. To give online approval to the student’s service-learning project
    b. To maintain communication with the student during the project
    c. To complete an online evaluation
Note: You are strongly encouraged to complete this evaluation, as it helps both the mentor and student analyze the impact of the student’s service-learning hours.

5) Online Approval:
    a. Once the student has submitted the online service-learning project form and it has been approved by the Director of Service-Learning, the community supervisor will receive an email asking to verify their participation in helping the student fulfill their service-learning hours.
    b. To verify participation:
      i. Log in to your Service-Learning account at www.uwec.edu/sl/projects (use assigned username and password)
ii. Click on “Manage Active Student Projects”
iii. Click on “Mark Supervisor Approval”

6) Online Evaluation:
    a. An email will be sent reminding the supervisor that a student’s project is nearing completion (this email is driven by the project end date)
