Benita Wagner has been a part of the Center for Service-Learning for over 15 years. As the coordinator, Benita takes care of office management, marketing and promotions, database management, and financial administration. She serves as the community liaison to 250+ community partners. She provides service-learning instruction and guidance to our community partners, faculty & academic staff mentors, and students. Benita also plans and implements the spring and fall Community Action Fairs and the annual Service-Learning Recognition Breakfast. She is instrumental in collecting campus-wide student service data each year for UW-Eau Claire to be placed on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. Benita also serves as advisor to Chi Alpha Campus Ministries.

 

Public Relations & Social Media Assistant

Our Public Relations & Social Media Assistant communicates with campus and the community using social media. She informs UWEC students about new project opportunities available through local non-profits. She promotes CS-L events, writes press releases and works with the Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC) to promote CS-L through the university lens. She coordinates with the Web &Technical Assistant in creating marketing items for the web and connects with the Journalist & Media Assistant to post service-learning stories/videos.

Our Technical Web Assistant manages the Center for Service- Learning website. She updates the website and also coordinates with the Public Relations Assistant to create various marketing items. She also assists with daily office tasks and assists students, faculty and community partners.

In the Center for Service- Learning we have an office assistant who helps Benita with various daily office tasks. Whitney assists with answering phones, responding to emails, working with students, faculty and community partners through the service-learning process. Whitney can answer most questions regarding the service-learning requirement.

Journalist &Media Assistant

Lucy Grogan-Ripp


Our Journalist & Media Assistant interviews students, community partners and mentors. She makes profiles and writes stories based on her interviews. Depending on the project, she shoots and edits videos for the department. Lucy's stories are published and videos can be viewed on the CS-L's website and social media. She works closely with the Web & Technical Assistant and Public Relations & Social Media Assistant to accomplish these tasks.
