Access to Student Records
While parents understandably have an interest in a student's academic progress, they cannot be granted access to a student's records without the written consent of the student. Parents are encouraged to consult with the student if academic information is needed. Please see the Privacy of Student Records and FERPA page for a thorough explanation of the Federal law pertaining to the access of student records.
The Student Information Release Authorization form is available for students to give permission for a third party to access specific information within their educational records. The form is reserved for exceptional cases. The form does not allow the authorized person to call in for information nor does it allow them general access to the student's online MyBlugold account information. The authorized person(s) must make written request for each item of information each time it is needed. We strongly encourage students to forward their bills and grade reports (sent via email to the student) to their parents/guardians as needed.

Grades, Schedules, and Transcripts
Grades and schedules are automatically mailed electronically each term to the student's UW-Eau Claire email account. Students may choose to forward this information on to their parents. Transcripts, as well as degree audits, require the student's written signature to be released from the Registrar's Office. Students may choose to have a transcript mailed to their parent's address. We encourage parents to consult with the student if academic information is needed.
Billing Statements
The Business Office oversees the billing of tuition and fees. Bills for tuition and fees are periodically mailed to a student's email account. Parents should contact the Business office at 715-836-5285 for information on payment deadlines.
Verification of Enrollment for Insurance Purposes
Frequently parents are required to provide information to an insurance company as proof of enrollment or academic status.
Students can obtain enrollment verification at no charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through National Student Clearinghouse. Go to MyBlugold CampS, select Student Center and then My Academics. On the My Academics page select the link for an Enrollment Verification and follow the instructions from there. This service is provided free of charge to UWEC students through the National Student Clearinghouse. We are unable to verify future dates of enrollment.
If for some reason the form provided via MyBlugold is not adequate for the verfication you need, please contact the Records and Registration Office at 715-836-5866 to obtain this information or send an email to verifications@uwec.edu. Often, the insurance company requires a form to be completed and then forwarded. These forms should be mailed to the Verifications office:
