Change of Major/Minor Procedures
How to change your major or minor to....
Elementary Education (Middle Childhood/Early Adolescence)
Students with fewer than 30 earned credits should contact the education adviser, Kelly Berg-Schwartz, via email at bergscks@uwec.edu or the Education Studies office at 836-2013 to make an appointment with the education adviser to declare the MCEA major.
Students with over 30 credits with a 3.0 grade point average or better should contact the education adviser, Kelly Berg-Schwartz, via email at bergscks@uwec.edu or the Education Studies office 836-2013 to make an appointment with the education adviser to declare the MCEA major. Students who have more than 30 credits and a grade point average below 3.0 will be required to see the Department Chair before a major change can occur.
Students who want to declare or change their minor to General Science (minor in teaching general science) and who have more than 30 credits and/or whose total grade point average is below 3.0 should come to the Education Studies Department in Brewer Hall (Room 271 on the second floor). The program assistant will change majors for students who have more than 30 credits and who have grade point averages of 3.0 or above. Students who have grade point averages below 3.0 will be required to see the Department Chair before a major change can occur.
Students who want to declare or change their minor to Langauge Arts (minor in teaching language arts) and who have more than 30 credits and/or whose total grade point average is below 3.0 should come to the Education Studies Department in Brewer Hall (Room 271 on the second floor). The program assistant will change majors for students who have more than 30 credits and who have grade point averages of 3.0 or above. Students who have grade point averages below 3.0 will be required to see the Department Chair before a major change can occur.

Students who have grade point averages below 3.0 will be required to see the Department Chair before a major change can occur.
If you meet some set requirements, the Program Assistant will change your major/minor. If you do not meet the set requirements, the Program Assistant will refer you to the Education Studies Department Chair.
