- How much does it cost?
There are different prices for the services that we provide here at the archery range. For general open shoot, the price is either $1.00 per night or $10.00 for the semester. If you wish to join the Archery League, the cost is $15.00 for the semester. There are no additional costs for bow storage, the use of our equipment, or lessons from the Archery Range Officer.
- Do I need my own equipment?
Archery equipment is available for use during all hours of operation. The equipment we have for general use includes Matthews Genesis beginner bows and basic arrows. This equipment is absolutely great for someone who is just getting started and want to explore what archery has to offer.
- Do I have to be an experienced shooter to participate?
You don’t have to have any prior experience to participate in the Archery program. During all hours of operation, there will be an Archery Range Officer available to teach you the basics of getting started. They love answering your questions and giving you tips to learn this life-long sport!
- Can I bring residents from my wing to the range for a wing event?
Yes! We love to host wing events and other short workshops to give students and opportunity to bond and to work together while they learn a new skill. These events are super fun and affordable ways to bring a club or wing together. Use of the range, equipment, and a lesson from an Archery Range Officer costs $1.00 per person. In order to set up an event like this, we ask that you contact Dan Langlois at 836-3616 or by e-mailing email@example.com.
- Do you have to join an archery league to shoot at the range?
The Archery League is a fun and competitive part of our program, but you don't have to join the league to shoot. Just come in during open shooting hours and the Range Officer will get you started. Bring along your friends!!
- Where is the range located?
The range is located in the Environmental Adventure Center in the basement of the Hilltop Recreation Center (downstairs of the cafeteria on upper campus).
- Where can I keep my bow?
Because bows may not be kept in Residence Hall rooms, storage for your bow is provided by the Environmental Adventure Center during the semester. The storage area is kept locked except during hours of operation. There is no extra cost for keeping your bow at the EAC. At all other times current UW-Eau Claire policy related to bow storage applies. Check with the on-duty Range Officer for details.
