Real Sky

Hobbs Observatory at Beaver Creek Reserve offers public access after dark (if it's not too cloudy) the third Saturday of the month and every clear Saturday from May to October.   MAP

Free Astronomy lectures at Hobbs Observatory, 8pm on the third Saturday (telescope viewing afterwards around 9pm).

To get to Hobbs Observatory: Travel East on Clairemont (Highway 12), through Altoona and to Fall Creek. In Fall Creek, turn left on County Road K, and travel a few miles (go past "SS"; but if you reach a stop sign you went too far.) The observatory is on the left, just before (but across the road from) Beaver Creek Reserve nature center.
