Summer Orientation is a required two-part program designed for new first year UW-Eau Claire students.
Phase I of Orientation is designed to introduce you to campus and allow you to register for classes. We will give you an opportunity to find out more about your academic program, meet with an adviser, and register for first semester classes. You will learn about university resources and campus life, including housing, dining services, student organizations, etc.
During orientation, there is a separate program for parents and guests. Parents and guests will have an opportunity to interact with fellow parents, current students, and university staff.
Orientation Dates: June 9 - June 27th and August 18, 2014
Orientation Schedule: There is a full day planned for students and a separate program for parents/guests.
Placement Testing: Students must take placement tests prior to coming to Orientation.
Forms Needed: Students must return these forms prior to attending Orientation.
Phase II of Orientation is our chance to welcome all freshman and incoming transfer students to UW-Eau Claire and to introduce you more fully to both the academic and social aspects of the university prior to the start of classes. Students will meet in small groups with faculty/staff and a student mentor. You will learn about the many support services available at the university while having lunch on the mall. In the afternoon, you will meet with faculty in the department of your major (undeclared will meet with their advisers). You will have an opportunity to find your classrooms. Phase II concludes with a picnic on lower campus. Phase II Orientation will take place on Friday, August 29th. Watch for more information in the mail.
