Orientation for New Freshmen starting
What is Orientation?
New Student Orientation takes place from June 15 - July 3rd. There are 15 one - day programs to choose from. (There is a similar program on August 17 for students who cannot attend in June). You will be receiving an Orientation Registration packet in the mail in mid-March, in this mailing you will receive details on how to sign up for an orientation session online. Online registration will begin on April 6th.
What will students do:
You will meet in a small group with an adviser and an orientation assistant to learn about both academic requirements and issues related to student life. You will then meet individually with an adviser prior to actually registering for classes. You will leave orientation with a copy of your fall schedule.
What will parents/guests do:
While there will be ample opportunities for parents/ guests and students to meet during the day, there is a separate program in the morning. Parents/guests will interact with university staff members as well as other parents and guests while learning about both the academic aspects of the university and student services. We will answer your questions about safety on campus, health services, parking, counseling, etc.
