ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Student must be from Barron, Wisconsin. First preference is given to a student majoring in education. If there is not an applicant from Barron majoring in education, the scholarship is open to any other major. Student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Student must have financial need. May be renewable up to three years as long as student remains in good academic standing and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. In the event there are no eligible candidates, the award funding goes on to the next year, so there would be two scholarships, and so on.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Qualifying students will receive an email in December with scholarship application information. Also, visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Complete the form and submit it to the Education Scholarship Committee. Ask at least one member of the Teacher Education Program who is familiar with your achievements at the University to submit a letter of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee.

Mid-February. Visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Exact deadline will be in Scholarship Applications Directions.
SELECTION PROCEDURE: Based upon the criteria above.
SELECTION DEADLINE: Determined by the Associate Dean.
NOTIFICATION:
The Office of the Associate Dean of Education and Human Sciences will notify the recipient by letter. The Associate Dean will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
SPECIAL NOTES:
A thank-you note should be sent to Gary White, son of Doris and Raymond, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, S- 214. The White family also requests that a press release be sent to the Barron newspaper.
