Foundation Scholarships

Rakstis Social Studies

To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must: be a Broad field Social Studies major or major in any of the following areas: Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, or Sociology. Have cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above. Provide evidence of commitment to the field (active work on projects relating to degree). Financial need may be considered.

Qualifying students will receive an email in December with scholarship application information. Also, visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Complete the form and submit it to the Education Scholarship Committee. Ask at least one member of the Teacher Education Program who is familiar with your achievements at the University to submit a letter of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee.

Selection will be based on the criteria above

The recipient should be sent a letter from the Associate Dean. The Associate Dean should complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office.
