Solberg, Irene West Memorial Scholarship
All applicants must have received a letter of acceptance into the graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UW-Eau Claire for the fall semester of the current year, and must have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or greater. Preference will be given to a graduate student who is a first generation college student and a graduate of any rural high school.APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Application for this scholarship award will be by invitation to students who have been admitted into the graduate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders for the fall semester. Instructions to apply for this scholarship award will be mailed with your letter of acceptance to the CSD graduate program. Return your completed scholarship application to the CSD Graduate Coordinator by April 15. The letters of recommendation that accompanied your graduate school application will be used in combination with your scholarship application form.APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 15
Awarding of the scholarship will be determined based upon a combination of past accomplishments and strong undergraduate academic records. A committee of past CSD master's degree graduates from UW-Eau Claire will independently rank applications for this scholarship. In the event of a tie, committee members will be asked to rank the tied applications. The Scholarship Committee will submit its rankings to the CSD Graduate Coordinator.SELECTION DEADLINE: Late April
The award winner will be notified in writing by early May.SPECIAL NOTES:
This fund was established by UW-Eau Claire alumnus, Dr. Larry Solberg, in honor of his mother, Irene West Solberg. Recipient should write a letter of thanks to Dr. Larry Solberg, in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, Schofield 214, and forward it to the CSD Graduate Coordinator, who will in turn forward the letter on to the Foundation.
