Foundation Scholarships

One award at $500

Available

One annual scholarship award will be presented to a UW-Eau Claire education major entering his or her student teaching semester or year at UW-Eau Claire. The award will be divided evenly with $250 applied to the student’s tuition account in the fall and $250 in the spring. The recipient must be in good academic standing (as defined by the university) to receive the spring award. The scholarship is to be awarded annually and the annual award is contingent upon the donor’s continued support of the scholarship.

Qualifying students will receive an email in December with scholarship application information. Also, visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Complete the form and submit it to the Education Scholarship Committee. Ask at least one member of the Teacher Education Program who is familiar with your achievements at the University to submit a letter of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee.

Mid-February. Visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Exact deadline will be in Scholarship Application Directions.

Selection will be based on the above criteria.

On or about April 1st.

By letter. The dean will complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid office.

The Konold’s established this scholarship in December 2010, in honor of their daughter. The Konold family believes that the field of education is a very worthy career to pursue and is often under appreciated. They are thankful for the role that educators have played in their lives both at the primary and secondary level. They understand that teachers are special people committed to sharing their love of knowledge as well as the endless hours of out of classroom preparation and planning. The Konold family hopes that by granting this scholarship that it will allow the student to experience the student teaching environment without the worry of the added expense. Recipient must write a letter of thanks to Kevin and Lori Konold and deliver it to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Office, S-214.
