AVAILABLE: Annually
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The recipient should be a UW-Eau Claire nontraditional student who is accepted into the College of Education and Human Sciences.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Qualifying students will receive an email in December with scholarship application information. Also, visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Complete the form and submit it to the Education Scholarship Committee. Ask at least one member of the Teacher Education Program who is familiar with your achievements at the University to submit a letter of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee.
APPLICATION DEADLINE:
Mid-February. Visit the webpage www.uwec.edu/coehs/forms/index.htm and go to Teacher Education Scholarships. Exact deadline will be in Scholarship Applications Directions.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The Education Scholarship Committee will review the essays and determine the recipient.
SELECTION DEADLINE:
As established annually by the College of Education and Human Sciences—usually around April 1.
NOTIFICATION:
The Office of the Associate Dean of Education and Human Sciences will notify the recipient by letter, with a copy sent to Kevin and Sandy Irwin (donors). The Chair will also complete and submit a “Scholarship Award Form” to the Financial Aid Office. The recipient will be invited to participate in the College of Education and Human Sciences awards ceremony each spring.
SPECIAL NOTES:
If the scholarship is accepted by the recipient, he/she will send a note of appreciation to Kevin and Sandy Irwin in care of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation office. The scholarship was established in honor of Winnie R. Gibson who was instrumental in the Irwin’s lives.
