Association for Computing Machinery: Offers travel or fellowship grants to support research on the association's history to advance computing as a science and a profession. Awards range from $2,500 to $5,000.

National Science Foundation: Exists as an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense." Programs include:
