Scholarships and Awards

Scholarships are available to nursing students through the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation and other private sources.

Private Sources

UWEC Foundation Scholarships

The process of awarding UWEC Foundation scholarships takes place in the spring semester for the following academic year. An email will be sent in February to all admitted nursing majors indicating applications are being accepted by an online link and will include a deadline date for applications (approx. March 3).

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility requirements and award amounts for these scholarships are determined in accordance with individual scholarship criteria. Please read all criteria information carefully as it pertains to each scholarship.

Financial Need:

For scholarships that indicate “financial need required” you must have filled out a FAFSA Financial Aid form for 2009 and have financial need. Contact the Financial Aid office for the form at 836-3373 or go to: http://www.uwec.edu/finaid/apply/process.htm. Please apply early.

This site will provide the scholarship criteria which you should address in your essay. You must indicate on the application form which scholarships you are applying for.
This site is being updated with the current amount of the scholarship available for the next school year. The amount/availability of the scholarship is subject to change.

Scholarship Application

The scholarship application is a two part process. The first part is the applicant’s data and scholarships you are applying for and is submitted via the internet and also needs to be printed. The second part is the activities, honors & awards, work experience, and the essay form. The essay should indicate how you meet the eligibility criteria. Some scholarship may require letters or recommendations or essays. The printed forms (Part One and Two and recommendations, etc) must be submitted by the deadline to:

The Scholarship Committee will review the applications in March and students will be notified in April.

There is an Awards Banquet in late April/early May that scholarship recipients and donors are invited to. The recipients are expected to attend the banquet. This is a great opportunity for recipients to personally thank the scholarship donor(s). Parents and friends may also attend.
