Summer Session— UW-Eau Claire's three-week summer session begins Monday, May 21, at 8 a.m. The eight-week summer session will run from June 11 to Aug. 3, followed by summer commencement Saturday, Aug. 4.

Sculpture to be removed— The Art Accessions Committee on May 1 approved to have TRISULA, a sculpture by former art professor Kenneth Campbell, removed from its campus location and destroyed due to its poor condition. Constructed of concrete and terrazzo over a steel armature, the sculpture has deteriorated over the years, with numerous cracks and fissures developing. Before his death Campbell expressed a desire that no restoration take place and that it be allowed to deteriorate. Upon his death, his widow, Jane Campbell, asked that the sculpture be removed and destroyed as it has become unsightly. The committee hopes that at a future date a sculpture can be purchased to take the place of TRISULA.
