Final exam week grade reporting, test scoring information
Final grades must be submitted through MyBlugold by 4 p.m. Dec. 23. Tests should be brought to the Help Desk (Old Library 1106) for scoring during the following dates and times:

     • Dec. 15-18: 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
     • Dec. 19: 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
     • Dec. 22 and 23: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
     • Dec. 26: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

McIntyre Library to offer extended hours and free coffee
McIntyre Library will be open 24 hours the week before and of finals again this semester. The library will be open:

     • From 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, to midnight Friday, Dec. 12.
     • From 7:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday, Dec. 13.
     • From 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19.

The library will be closed Saturday and Sunday Dec. 20 and 21.

Library Grounds in the library's grand corridor will extend its hours during finals week and will remain open until 1 a.m. After Library Grounds closes, free coffee, sponsored by Sodexho and McIntyre Library, will be available to students studying in the library from 1 to 6 a.m. Dec. 14-18. Spring and summer utility outages announced
The spring 2009 steam outage will be held from 6 p.m. Saturday, May 16, through 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009. The steam outage will result in the following:

    • No air conditioning in Hilltop Center.
    • No potable hot water except in Chancellor's, Thomas and Murray Halls, all hall directors' apartments, Zorn Arena, Brewer Hall, Human Sciences and Services, McIntyre Library, Nursing, Crest Wellness Center and Haas Fine Arts (isolated areas).

The summer 2009 planned electrical outage is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2009, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will affect the entire campus.

These annually-occurring utility outages allow for preventive maintenance and repairs that prevent unplanned emergency outages due to breakdowns. Another notice of the outages will be distributed in a late April or early May 2009 "Facilities Maintenance Periods" e-mail message. Still time to register to see 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers'
A trip to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre in Chanhassen, Minn., is planned for Feb. 12, 2009, for dinner and a performance of "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." The cost is $60 per person and includes transportation, dinner and a ticket to the show. A bus will leave Towers Hall at 3:30 p.m. and will return after the show. Foreign Language Requirement for the Bachelor of Music (B.M.) Degree

To: 2. Foreign Language. Foreign Language competency for the B.M. degree can be met in one of two ways:
a. Achieve a score on the foreign language placement test that qualifies the student to enter the 201-level French, German, Italian, or Spanish course.
b. Earn a grade of at least C (not C-) or a mark of S in a 102-level French, German, Italian, or Spanish course.  Students in the Applied Voice emphasis must use either French, German, or Italian to satisfy this requirement.

To: The Art History minor is open to all University students. Twenty-four semester credits in Art History, including ArtH 111, 112, and 389. ArtH 111 and 112 must be completed as the first two Art History courses. Independent Study, ArtH 399, 499, cannot exceed three credits total and can only be taken after the accumulation of 13 earned semester credits of Art History and with the written approval of the Art History faculty.
