Faculty and staff invited to participate in WHE gift project
For the past 16 years Women in Higher Education has sponsored the Holiday Gift Program, which assists UW-Eau Claire's low-income, nontraditional-age and traditional-age students with families. Last year's project reached 102 children, representing 45 families. In addition, more than $1,100 in cash was collected for grocery gift certificates.

WHE recently sent a mailing to nontraditional-age students inviting them to place their names on a gift "wish" list. The project also is open to traditional-age students who are parents, so WHE welcomes assistance in obtaining names of such students. Students who respond are asked to provide the ages of their children and their choice of gifts (a toy, article of clothing, up to $20 per person.)

If you would like to make a donation, checks (payable to Women in Higher Education) may be sent/brought to Patti See, Academic Skills Center, Old Library 2112.

Children's Center thank you, special request
    • The staff and children of the UW-Eau Claire Children's Center thanks all UW-Eau Claire faculty, staff and students who made the center's Halloween parade a success. "Thanks to all the departments that participated in the Halloween parade and made Halloween a special day for the children at the Children’s Center," said Doris Hebert, Children's Center office associate.
    • The Children's Center also is in need of scrap paper that is blank on one side for use by the children for drawing and painting. Any departments or offices that can donate paper can arrange to have the paper picked up by calling 836-2178 or sending e-mail to hebertdm@uwec.edu.

Lincoln Financial representative on campus Nov. 5 and 6
James Egan of Lincoln Financial Advisors in Eau Claire will be available to meet with employees on an individual basis Nov. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Nov. 6 from noon to 4:30 p.m. in the Birchwood Room of Davies Center.

The Lincoln National Corp. is an authorized provider for the UW System Tax-Deferred Savings (403b) Program. This program is available to UW-Eau Claire employees on a voluntary participation basis. For more information, contact Egan at jimegan@charter.net or 715-834-7775.
