Bike to Work Week. The UW-Eau Claire Clean Commute Initiative invites students, faculty and staff to ride their bicycles to campus during Bike to Work Week, May 11-15. The Eau Claire City Council will proclaim the week Bike to Work Week during its May 12 meeting, and other Bike to Work Week events will occur around the city during the week. See related item May 12. Master Class. Internationally acclaimed trombonist Jiggs Whigham will tour western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota May 11-13, beginning with a master class tonight at UW-Eau Claire. Gantner Concert Hall, Haas Fine Arts Center, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. More information.

Medical and public policy experts will lead a discussion titled "Addressing Alcohol Abuse through Public Policy: Finding Common Ground" about the scope of alcohol abuse in Wisconsin and the policies that have been enacted and/or proposed to solve the problem. Commencement. Commencement exercises for 1,217
UW-Eau Claire students will be held in Zorn Arena. Candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences and candidates for master's degrees will receive degrees during a 9 a.m. ceremony. Candidates from the College of Business, College of Education and Human Sciences and College of Nursing and Health Sciences will receive degrees during a 2 p.m. ceremony. A reception for graduates
and guests will follow each ceremony on the Central Campus Mall. (Reception
rain site: Spruce-Tamarack Room, Davies Center.) Additional

'Culture Talk' Radio Series. Communication and journalism faculty member Judy Sims is conducting a faculty-student collaborative research project titled "International Awareness Through Intercultural Radio Interviews." For the project, UW-Eau Claire student researchers are conducting 20 interviews with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. The interviews will be aired as a radio series called "Culture Talk, which airs at 6 p.m. on WUEC radio, 89.7 FM. More information.
