EAU CLAIRE — "The Millennium Quilt: Honoring Girls and Women of the Past, Present and Future," along with information about the history of women's quilting in America, will be on display March 18-22 in the Sky Light Lounge of Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The quilt, made by girls and women in Wisconsin, is part of a larger celebration of women's history month and is sponsored by UW-Eau Claire's history department and the women's studies program. A product of the energy and activism of local girls and women, the quilt fits into a long tradition of American women's quilting and reflects the national women's history theme this year, "Women Sustaining the American Spirit."
For more information about events taking place on campus during women's history month, women's history classes and/or the women's studies program, please contact Teresa Sanislo, assistant professor of history, 836-5501, or Dr. Jennifer Shaddock, associate professor of English and interim women's studies coordinator, 836-5717.
