Of the Work of George Hagale![]()
MAILED: Jan. 29, 2002
EAU CLAIRE — A retrospective exhibition of the work of the late George Hagale, professor emeritus of art, will be on display Feb. 28 through March 20 at the Foster Gallery in the Haas Fine Arts Center of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Anyone who owns artwork by Hagale is urged to contact Michael Christopherson, professor of art, as soon as possible, to have the work considered for inclusion in this retrospective exhibition.
Hagale, who retired in 1989 and died in March of last year, joined the UW-Eau Claire art faculty in 1966 and was former curator of the Foster Gallery. He was an accomplished artist and sculptor and had his work exhibited at numerous art shows throughout the United States. He was particularly known for the altars, crucifixes and chalices he designed and made for many Catholic Churches, including the Ecumenical Religious Center on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
Before coming to Eau Claire, Hagale served on the faculties of New Mexico Highlands University and Southwest Missouri State College.
For more information about the exhibit, contact Michael Christopherson at 836-3277 or 834-2545.
