Receive Promotions and/or Tenure

EAU CLAIRE - A number of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire faculty and academic staff have received promotions and/or tenure this summer.

Faculty receiving tenure include Dr. Michael Carney, associate professor of chemistry; Dr. Phillip Ihinger, associate professor of geology; Dr. D. Scott Lowe, professor and chair of philosophy and religious studies; Dr. Kate Reynolds, assistant professor of foreign languages; Dr. Tamara Lindsey, associate professor of curriculum and instruction; and Dr. Patricia Turner, associate professor of history.

Those receiving tenure and promotion from assistant professor to associate professor include: Dr. Janice Berry, family health nursing; Dr. Kristina Beuning, biology; Dr. Marie Crothers, psychology; Dr. Randal Dickerson, music and theatre arts; Dr. Stephen Drucker, chemistry; Dr. Douglas Dunham, physics and astronomy; Dr. Douglas Faulkner, geography and anthropology; Dr. Gloria Fennell, social work; Dr. Anthony Keys, management information systems; Dr. Marcus McEllistrem, chemistry; Richard Nimke, music and theatre arts; Dr. Scott Oates, English; Dr. Richard Ryberg, social work; Dr. Matthew Waters, foreign languages; Dr. Scott Whitfield, physics and astronomy; and Dr. Ruidong Zhang, management information systems.

Dr. Lois Taft was promoted from associate professor to professor of nursing systems and was granted tenure.

Faculty with tenure who received promotions from associate professor to professor were Robert Baca, music and theatre arts; Dr. Randall Beger, political science; Dr. Terrence Chmielewski, communication and journalism; Dr. Mary Iribarren, foreign languages; Dr. Robert Knight, music and theatre arts; Dr. Kim Pierson, physics and astronomy; Dr. Walter Reid, mathematics; Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff, music and theatre arts; Dr. Larry Solberg, communication disorders; Dr. Kent Syverson, geology; and Dr. Jack Tan, computer science.

Lisa Herb was promoted from assistant professor with tenure to associate professor of kinesiology with tenure.

Academic staff receiving promotions were: Elizabeth Hicks, from student services program manager II to student services program manager III in Educational Support Services; Nuria Hoff, from lecturer to senior lecturer of foreign languages; Todd Hoffner, from lecturer to senior lecturer in kinesiology and athletics; Heather Pearson, from student services program manager I to student services program manager II in Admissions; Rob Reid, from associate lecturer to lecturer of foundations of education; and Katie Ritland-Clause, from student services coordinator to senior student services coordinator in Advising and New Student Initiatives.

Also receiving promotions were: Earl Shoemaker, student services coordinator to senior student services coordinator in Advising and News Student Initiatives; Laurie St. Aubin-Whelihan, from administrative program manager I to outreach program manager I in Continuing Education; Marie-France Strohschank, from lecturer to senior lecturer of foreign languages; and Sean Yengo, from lecturer to senior lecturer in kinesiology and athletics.
