EAU CLAIRE — Dr. William Jeffrey, a senior director in the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy, will present a seminar May 7 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The seminar, titled “Homeland Security: The Role for Science and Technology,” will begin at 3 p.m. in Room 007 of Phillips Science Hall.
Jeffrey, a physicist by training, has worked extensively on science and technology issues during the formation of the new Department of Homeland Security.
Prior to going to work at the White House, Jeffrey worked in both the public and private sectors related to the U.S. Department of Defense.
The presentation will be part of UW-Eau Claire’s chemistry department spring seminar program.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
Jeffrey was to visit UW-Eau Claire last spring but had to cancel his trip because of the war in Iraq.
