EAU CLAIRE — Fifteen bachelor of fine arts in studio arts/graphic design degree candidates at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will present a senior studio art exhibition April 8-17 in the Foster Gallery of the Haas Fine Arts Center. A reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, in the Foster Gallery.
Students exhibiting their work in the graphic design portfolio exhibit are Emily Dieringer, Campbellsport, Carson Kipfer, Wisconsin Rapids, Justin Masuga, Hurley, Kate Neumeier, Appleton, Jillian Noble, Wisconsin Rapids, Josh Olk, Appleton, Jennifer Rudé, Plymouth, Minn., Nicki Vuchetich, Eau Claire, Katie Ver Voort, Kimberly, and Rachel Waddell, Elm Grove.
The graphic design exhibition titled “Integrity” includes graphic designs and photography spanning print, web and video. Works include logos, brochures, stationary, posters and many other pieces.
“Graphic Design is not just marketing and advertising,” VerVoort said. “It is a powerful art form that can be extremely expressive and moving. Being able to portray these powerful themes and concepts accurately to the viewer is what keeps me motivated. The freedom of creativity is what feeds my energy and excitement in the field of graphic design.”
Students exhibiting their work in the studio art exhibit
are Amanda Calvey, Winona, Minn., Matt Carlson, Eau Claire, Kristopher Martin,
Ladysmith, and Ryan West, River Falls.
The studio art exhibition includes ceramics, color and black and white photographs,
stoneware and porcelain, printmaking, lithography, relief and intaglio.
Foster Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on weekdays, 6-8 p.m. Thursdays and 1-4:30 p.m. weekends. For more information about gallery exhibits, call Tom Wagener, (715) 836-2328.
