Four Members of UW-Eau Claire’s
Classified Staff Retire

EAU CLAIRE — Four members of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s classified staff have announced their retirements.

Arlene Adams, a financial specialist 2 for the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Inc., retired after 31 years of service to the university. Prior to joining the Foundation, Adams worked in the School of Nursing and the computer science and geology departments. She served on the Classified Staff Advisory Committee, and was a member of Women in Higher Education and Professional Secretaries International. Adams will work as a volunteer in the Foundation through January 2004.

David Gilman retired after 19 years of service to UW-Eau Claire. Gilman began his career as a facilities repair worker 3 and later worked as a bricklayer and mason for facilities management.

James Page retired after working as a custodian for UW-Eau Claire’s facilities management for 30 years. Page, who retired without ever using a sick day, worked the nightshift in the McIntyre Library.

Cheryl VanderVoort, an information systems technical services senior in McIntyre Library, retired after 16 years of service to UW-Eau Claire. Prior to joining the library, VanderVoort was a program assistant I in the Registrar’s Office. During her years at UW-Eau Claire, she served on the Classified Staff Committee for Professional Development, the Commission on the Status of Women and the Davies Center Advisory Committee.
