EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s annual Parents’ Weekend will be held Oct. 11 and 12.
This year’s event, sponsored by Housing and Residence Life and the National Residence Hall Honorary, features Bill Cosby and the Thundermen.
Cosby, often described as one of the most influential stars in America today, has found success through concerts, recordings, television, films, commercials and education. His humor centers on everyday life, providing insight into people’s roles as parents, children, family members, and men and women. Cosby’s shows will begin at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. in Zorn Arena and are sponsored by the University Activities Commission. Tickets are still available from the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727.
The Thundermen, who call themselves the Midwest’s original ’50s rock ‘n’ roll band, play vintage tunes, including songs from Elvis, the Beach Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more. A concert and dance featuring the Thundermen will take place between 5 and 9 p.m. in the Council Fire Room in Davies Center.
Other weekend activities include a dinner, bowling and billiards, planetarium shows, campus tours and other regularly scheduled campus events such as a Blugold football game and musical performances.
For more information, call the National Residence Hall Honorary, (715) 855-3870, or contact Jodi Thesing-Ritter, (715) 836-3630 or thesinjm@uwec.edu.
