EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, March 10. All events are free and open to the public.Monday, March 10:
- Dr. Alexandre Dossin, assistant professor of music, will present a recital with guest artist Fredi Gerling at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Dossin, on piano, and Gerling, on violin, will begin the performance with "Copacabana" by D. Milhaud. The performance also will include Sonata No. 4 by C. Guarnieri,"Mae d'agua Canta" by L. Cosme, and Sonata in A Major by C. Franck.
- Flute Studio will present a recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Wednesday, March 12:
- The theatre music recital by Soprano Emelia Polodna and baritone Steve Howe originally scheduled for this date has been canceled and rescheduled for March 26. The full description will appear on the music calendar for that week.
Thursday, March 13:
- Cornucopia Saxophone Quartet will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The ensemble, comprised of senior comprehensive music majors Jared Ziegler, Menomonie, James Gornick, Fennimore, Matthew McVeigh, Stevens Point, and Sarah Minette, Whitewater, will begin the program with "Maple Leaf Rag," composed by Scott Joplin and arranged by James ‘Red' McLeod. The performance also will include "Quatuor" by Pierre Max Dubois, "July" by Michael Torke, and "Mississippi Rag," composed by W.H. Krell and arranged by Arthur Frackenpohl.
