  • worked with student leadership to enhance and solidify differential tuition

Expanded and enhanced regional services and impact

  • consolidated and relocated Outreach and Continuing Education in order to better serve the region
  • mobilized students through promotion of service learning and community action days
  • personally led by example, serving on numerous boards, committees and study groups

Built partnerships with regional higher education institutions providing collective leadership for regional cooperation

    • partnered with economic development agencies on strategic collaborations
    • developed joint programs with other institutions, enabling students to take courses at partner campuses in order to complete their degrees

Managed and broadened UW-Eau Claire’s resource base

    • managed the deepest budget cuts in state support ever while maintaining and enhancing the campus’ level of excellence
    • launched the university’s first-ever comprehensive fund-raising campaign for private funds and exceeded the $35 million goal more than a year ahead of schedule. Revised the goal to at least $50 million
    • directed development of the first-ever physical campus master plan
