Foster Gallery BFA Exhibit. Works by 11 bachelor of fine arts degree candidates will be featured through April 18. The studio art exhibit will include paintings and drawings, ceramic vessels, prints and a large-scale installation. The graphic design exhibit will include photography, posters, booklets, packaging, digital pieces and graphic design pieces. Gail Scukanec, interim dean for the College of Graduate Studies at Central Michigan University, and a candidate for dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences at UW-Eau Claire, will present "How would your leadership values and approaches as dean help the college realize the goals and outcomes of the strategic plan?" American Indian Awareness Month Opening Reception. UW-Eau Claire will celebrate American Indian Awareness Month by hosting activities throughout April. Today Paul DeMain, a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin (Bear Clan) and a descendant of the Ojibwe of the Great Lakes region, will present "Reflections on Past, Present and Future American Indian Contributions" during the opening reception. Fly Fishing Workshop. The UW-Eau Claire Environmental Adventure Center will collaborate with the Ojibleau Chapter of Trout Unlimited to offer a two-part "Introduction to Fly Fishing" workshop. The workshop will introduce participants to the basic components of fly fishing, familiarizing students with equipment, teaching them to cast and tie basic flies, and practicing fishing on the river. Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil. The vigil will be held to honor and remember those affected by domestic violence. The all-female a capella group Audacious will perform to kick off the event. Guest speakers Sarah Harless, domestic violence advocate for the Women's and Gender Equity Center at UW-Eau Claire, Jessica Bryan, from the UW-Stout Campus Violence Prevention Project, and Laurel Kieffer, a UW-Eau Claire Women's Studies lecturer, will discuss domestic violence and their work as advocates.
