Student costs for 2001-02 set by Board of Regents — Resident
undergraduates will pay $109.90 more this fall for required tuition and fees at
UW-Eau Claire, according to action taken July 12 in Madison during a meeting of
the UW System Board of Regents.
The Regents adopted a budget for the 2001-02 academic year and set tuition rates in the absence of final approval by the Legislature of a state budget for the 2001-03 biennium. The action brings the total first semester cost for required tuition and fees plus room and food service for a full-time resident undergraduate at UW-Eau Claire to $3,515.85, a 5.2 percent increase over last year’s semester total of $3,343.45. Required tuition and fees will be $1,735.85 for a resident undergraduate, compared to $1,625.95 for 2000-01. This figure includes the Regents’ proposed 7 percent tuition increase, which is the first tuition hike in two years. It also includes the continuation of a $50 per semester differential tuition charge, unique to UW-Eau Claire, and segregated fees, which support a broad range of student activities and services. Soll said UW-Eau Claire’s segregated fees are the third lowest in the UW System. Room and food service costs also are below the System average.
Donald Mowry appointed to Service-Learning post — A
faculty member with extensive experience in service-learning and working with
community agencies has been appointed to direct the service-learning program at
UW-Eau Claire for the 2001-02 academic year.
