Monday, July 9
Summer Fitness Classes. A variety of free fitness classes will be offered
Monday through Thursday during summer session. Hi/Low aerobics will be held
Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:15 a.m. in the McPhee Dance Studio; spinning will be
held Mondays and Wednesdays at noon, Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and Thursdays at 5 p.m.
in McPhee 127; hydrorobics will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 a.m. in
the McPhee pool; and cardiokick will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesdays in the McPhee
Dance Studio. Summer memberships for the University Recreation Fitness Center
are $15 at Hilltop Center. For more information, call 836-3377.
Music on the Mall. Featuring ethnic flutist Peter
Phippen. Audience members are invited to bring blankets or folding chairs for
lawn seating. Central Campus Mall (rain site: Schofield Auditorium), 7 p.m.
Tuesday, July 10 Summer
Session Film. "Ladyhawke." (U.S. 1985, directed by Richard
Donner, 121 minutes, rated PG.) Lady Isabeau (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Captain
Etienne Navarre (Rutger Hauer) are doomed by a sorcerer’s curse to be
"always together, eternally apart." At sunrise she is transformed into
a hawk; at sunset the knight takes the form of a wolf. Davies Theatre, noon and
7 p.m. Also July 12.
Wednesday, Ju ly
11 Jazz at Noon. Featuring
UW-Eau Claire and area jazz musicians. Refreshments will be sold. Central Campus
Mall (rain site: The Cabin, Davies Center), noon to 1 p.m.

12 Summer Session Film.

Second Annual Water Street
Mile. Emeriti faculty members Bob and Dina St. Louis, representing the
Indianhead Track Club, are race directors for this one-mile run/walk along Water
Street to benefit the L.E. Phillips Senior Center. Registration will be held
from 7 to 8:40 a.m. in Owen Park; fee is $10. Race begins at 9 a.m. west of
Ninth Avenue and Water Street.
