UW-Eau Claire, UW Colleges Sign
Cooperative Transfer Agreement — A cooperative transfer
agreement between UW-Eau Claire and the UW Colleges in American Indian studies
is now in effect.
Provost Ronald Satz and UW Colleges Provost Margaret Cleek recently signed
the agreement, which allows UW Colleges students who have been accepted through
the Guaranteed Transfer Program to take American Indian studies courses on their
home campuses and make a seamless transfer into UW-Eau Claire’s American
Indian studies baccalaureate program. The Guaranteed Transfer Program enables
students to begin their education as freshmen at one of the UW Colleges local
campuses and be guaranteed admission to a UW System institution as a junior.
Student Speakers Sought for Commencement — The Commencement
Committee invites all students eligible for graduation in August 2001 to apply
to deliver the Reflections at commencement ceremonies Saturday, Aug. 4.
The Commencement Committee will select manuscripts to be
given orally before a second screening committee. The oral competition will take
place at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, in Davies Theatre.

When read at a normal speaking rate, the Reflections can be
no longer than four minutes. Manuscripts must be clearly typed and
double-spaced. Name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and school should
be included on the cover page only.
The deadline for submission of manuscripts is 4 p.m. Monday, July 2.
Manuscripts should be hand-delivered or mailed to Beverly Soll, Activities and
Programs Office, Davies 133. For more information, call Soll at 836-4419.
