 Monday, June 18
Summer Fitness Classes. A variety of free fitness classes will be offered Monday through Thursday during summer session. Hi/Low aerobics will be held Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:15 a.m. in the McPhee Dance Studio; spinning will be held Mondays and Wednesdays at noon, Tuesdays at 4 p.m. and Thursdays at 5 p.m. in McPhee 127; hydrorobics will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 a.m. in the McPhee pool; and cardiokick will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesdays in the McPhee Dance Studio. Summer memberships for the University Recreation Fitness Center are $15 at Hilltop Center. For more information, call 836-3377.

Orientation Program for New Freshmen. Check-in begins at 7:45 a.m. in the Skylight Lounge, Davies Center. Also June 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29; and July 2 and 3. For more information, call 836-2003.

Jazz at Noon. Featuring UW-Eau Claire and area jazz musicians. Refreshments will be sold. Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Cabin, Davies Center), noon to 1 p.m. Through June 22.

Music on the Mall. Featuring guitarists Michael and Tony Hauser, presenting classical and authentic flamenco music. Audience members are invited to bring blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating. Central Campus Mall (rain site: Schofield Auditorium), 7 p.m.

Summer Session Film. "The Secret Garden." (U.S. 1949, directed by Fred M. Wilcox, 92 minutes, black and white with color sequence.) Frances Hodgson Burnett’s atmospheric Victorian fable stars Margaret O’Brien as a young orphan sent to live with her widowed uncle (Herbert Marshall) at his dark and foreboding English estate. Her curiosity and stubborn temperament lead the girl to discover an abandoned garden, the key to her uncle’s embittered life. Dean Stockwell, Gladys Cooper and Elsa Lanchester co-star. Davies Theatre, noon and 7 p.m. Also June 21.
