Introducing the Summer Bulletin — The Summer Bulletin will be published weekly during the eight-week summer session beginning Monday, June 11. The Summer Bulletin carries official notices, calendar items, faculty and staff news and other news briefs as space permits. Items for the Summer Bulletin should be sent to Diane Walkoff, News Bureau, Schofield 201, by 10 a.m. Monday for publication in the following week’s issue. E-mail submissions are encouraged. Publication of the University Bulletin will resume Aug. 20 to coincide with the official opening of the academic year.


Institutional Review Board — Provost Ronald Satz has appointed William Frankenberger, professor of psychology, to chair the UW-Eau Claire Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects (IRB) effective May 21, 2001. The UW-Eau Claire IRB is responsible for reviewing and approving all human subjects research conducted under the auspices of UW-Eau Claire. The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) will provide administrative support to the IRB. Faculty, academic staff and students will continue to receive guidance on IRB protocol preparation from ORSP and all IRB requests will continue to be submitted through ORSP.
