Submissions sought for ORSP report
The 2007-08 Report on Publications and Other Scholarly Achievements currently is being compiled by Office of Research and Sponsored Programs staff members. The edition will cover publications and achievements from May 1, 2007, through April 30, 2008. Eligible items that were not submitted for last year’s report also may be submitted for the 2007-08 report. Submission guidelines can be found online.

Faculty and staff are asked to submit publication and scholarly achievement information by e-mail — preferably as Word document attachments — to graduate assistant Emily Elsner Twesme at elsnerea@uwec.edu by early August. Please type “ROP” in the subject line.

Classified Staff Scholarship deadline is Aug. 1

Each fall and spring semester, a $250 scholarship is awarded to a UW-Eau Claire classified staff member who is employed at least half time at the university and enrolled as a student at an accredited higher education institution.

Those qualified for the fall 2008 scholarship are encouraged to apply by 4:30 p.m. Aug. 1 by submitting (1) a brief summary of the employee/student's employment history and education background; (2) a brief statement describing the fall coursework and how it will benefit the employee/student; and (3) two letters of recommendation. Submit applications to Barb Bowers, Human Resources.

The UW-Eau Claire Foundation's Classified Staff Grant Fund, which supports the scholarship, was created by Susie Warden, who retired in March after 29 years as a UW-Eau Claire classified employee, and Linda Haag, who retired in 2004 after working as a UW-Eau Claire classified staff member for almost 37 years. Both women completed bachelor's degrees at UW-Eau Claire while working as full-time members of the university's classified staff. They wanted to make certain other classified staff members had a similar opportunity, so they created the Classified Staff Grant Fund.
