Summer Mathematics Workshop. The Summer 2006 Mathematics Workshop, "Inverse Problems and Applications," will be held June 19 and 20 at UW-Eau Claire. More information is available online or by contacting Mohamed Elgindi, mathematics, at elgindmb@uwec.edu.
Jazz at Noon. During the week of June 19, the
Evan Benidt Combo
will play Monday through Wednesday and the
Randy Pingrey Combo
will play Thursday and Friday. A variety of grilled lunch items will be sold. Central Campus Mall (rain site: The Cabin, Davies Center), noon to 1 p.m. Weekdays through June 30.
Music on the Mall. Tonight's concert will feature Matt Wahl. An Eau Claire native, Wahl wins fans everywhere he goes with his deep baritone voice and upbeat, insightful, original songs. He plays between 150 and 200 shows a year in all sorts of venues, and is a perennial favorite on the Music on the Mall series. His fourth CD, "The Fun Side of Life," was released last year. Planetarium Program. Featuring "More Than Meets the Eye," a show that compares naked-eye views of celestial objects with the views from binoculars, small/medium telescopes and professional observatories. Children's Planetarium Program. Featuring "Lifestyles of the Stars," a show targeted to children ages 4 to 11. The show will explore the lives of stars thorough an "Astrobus Tour of the Stars." Jazz at Noon. The Jazz at Noon series concludes with shows by the John Raymond Combo (Monday-Tuesday), the Josh Gallagher Group (Wednesday), and the Randy Pingrey Combo (Thursday-Friday). Music on the Mall. Featuring the Billy Krause Trio, a three-man acoustic group that performs both familiar and obscure, but always enjoyable, non-mainstream music. Audience members are invited to bring blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating. Free popcorn will be provided and other refreshments will be sold.
