Following are examples of UW-Eau Claire people and programs that recently appeared in the media. NOTE: Some newspapers, including the Leader-Telegram, require free registration. Dick Boyum (emeritus), Counseling Services, will be a guest on the Wisconsin Public Radio show "Conversations with Larry Meiller" July 26. The topic of the show will be coping with stress in a stressful world, with a focus on simple pleasures and humor. The show can be heard from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on WHWC, 88.3 FM. UW-Eau Claire alumnus Luke Strand, the new head coach for the men's hockey team at UW-Eau Claire, was featured in the July 21 Green Bay Press-Gazette story "Hockey: Gamblers' Strand nets Eau Claire job." William Frankenberger, psychology/Human Development Center, was interviewed for a July 20 CBS11-TV (Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas) story about ADHD medication abuse on college campuses. Interim Chancellor Vicki Lord Larson was interviewed on WQOW-TV July 19 for a story about Gov. Doyle’s plan to veto part of the state budget and restore $43 million in funding for the UW System. Doyle’s plan also was the subject of a WEAU-TV story. CASA, the Center for Awareness of Sexual Assault at UW-Eau Claire, was highlighted in a WEAU-TV story. Volunteers are needed to help staff CASA’s help line. |
