Matt Germonprez will lead a panel of industry experts at the 21st annual International Federation for Information Processing conference Aug. 1-4 in Cleveland, Ohio. Germonprez and the other panelists will discuss ubiquitous computing, which can support new information environments, up-to-the-minute sensory information and context recognition. Companies around the world are implementing ubiquitous computing in the form of short range wireless systems for vehicle monitoring, sensor networks for complex systems management, and context aware devices for ad-hoc networking. Panel participants will illustrate how some of the world's leading companies use ubiquitous computing. Information from the panel will be published in the book "Designing Ubiquitous Information Environments: Socio-technical Issues and Challenges," edited by K. Lyytinen, Y. Yoo, K. Sorensen and J. DeGross, Springer-Verlag, New York.
