Bobby Pitts, Tiit Raid (emeritus), David Knowlton (Music and Theatre Arts) and other area artists will have their works displayed in a group exhibit titled "Rural Visions, an Artistic Journey" through Aug. 31 at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire.
Chemistry
Alan Gengenbach recently received a $34,876 Cottrell College Science Award from Research Corp. for his project titled "Metalloporphyrin Catalyzed Oxidation of Azo Dyes."
Counseling Services
Dick Boyum (emeritus) gave a presentation about stress management to staff members of the Color My World child care center May 25 in Eau Claire. He also gave a lecture titled "Wellness as a Lifelong Learning Process" June 10 for a UW-Eau Claire kinesiology wellness class. In addition, Boyum recently was notified that his article "The Death of a Pet" has been added to the University of Chicago Counseling Center's Virtual Pamphlet Collection Web site.
Public Health Professions
Dale B. Taylor (emeritus) had his paper titled "Biomedical Music Therapy: Explanation and Applications" accepted for presentation at the 11th World Congress of Music Therapy July 19-23, 2005, in Brisbane, Australia. Taylor also has been appointed to the board of directors of the Wisconsin Institute for Public Health, and recently was elected vice commodore of the Lake Wissota Yacht Club.

Condolences to Vicki Peterson, University Centers and Programs, whose mother, Allene Freseth, died May 22 in Menomonie.
