Bob Nowlan presented “The Impact of the Northern Ireland ‘Troubles’ Upon Ian Rankin’s ‘Inspector Rebus’ Series of Adventures in ‘Tartan Noir’” at the joint conference of the American Conference for Irish Studies, the British Association of Irish Studies and the European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies July 12-16 at the University of Liverpool in England.

Mathematics
The mathematics department presented a seminar series July 12-15 at UW-Eau Claire. The seminars were led by mathematics faculty members Khodr Shamseddine, Michael Penkava, Jim Walker and Mohamed Elgindi and M. El-Gebeily of the department of mathematical sciences at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
