Donald Mowry, Center for Service-Learning, was quoted in the June 10 Leader-Telegram article "Web site aimed at volunteers — Internet helps people find groups in need," about the Chippewa Valley Volunteer Coordinators Network's new Web site. UW-Eau Claire students Todd Cullen, Bob Meixner and Suzanne Roe created the Web site as part of their service-learning requirement.

Chancellor Donald Mash was interviewed by WEAU-TV on June 9 regarding tuition increases. He also was quoted in the June 9 Leader-Telegram article "Chancellors fear impact of further UW cuts."

Rodd Freitag, political science, was quoted in the June 8 USA Today article "Economic rebirth in Wis. may reflect U.S. trend — Growing job market may offset war, gas price worries."

Rob Reid, foundations of education, was quoted in the June 3 Leader-Telegram articles "Wizard of Az — Young readers await third Harry Potter movie" and "Potter of gold — Theaters expect big crowds for third Harry film."

Bob Erffmeyer, management and marketing, was quoted in the June issue of Chippewa Valley B2B about UW-Eau Claire's MBA program and the non-traditional students who enroll in the program.

Andris Straumanis, communication and journalism, was quoted in the May 27 Baltic Times article "Latvian expats ponder which is their home from home."

Jim Knutson-Kolodzne, American Indian studies, was interviewed on WQOW-TV May 26 about Native American artifacts that were found while construction crews were working on the Highway 93 expansion project.

A May 25 Wausau Daily Herald article titled "UWMC mulls two 4-year degrees" was about the possibility of UW-Marathon County offering four-year degree programs in nursing (similar to the nursing partnership between UW-Marshfield/Wood County and UW-Eau Claire) and engineering.

Bob Shaw, associate dean of students emeritus, was featured in the May 22 Leader-Telegram article "Shaw praised as student advocate."

Richard Boyum, emeritus, Counseling Services, was featured in the May 22 Leader-Telegram article "Psychologist Boyum 'graduates' after 31 years."

Jesse Okiror, a UW-Eau Claire student who graduated May 22, was featured in the May 21 Leader-Telegram article "UW-EC grad ready for new challenges."

Cynthia Gray-Mash, foundations of education, was quoted in the May 17 Leader-Telegram article "Coalition focuses on civil rights," about the Eau Claire Human Rights Coalition.

Laura Chellman, Health Services, was interviewed on WEAU-TV May 17 about new state legislation that requires colleges and universities to inform students about the risks of meningitis and to provide vaccination information.

Lorraine Smith, School of Nursing, was interviewed on Wisconsin Public Radio May 14 about the Collaborative Nursing Program, a collaboration among all UW System baccalaureate degree nursing programs.

Dave Schauer and Jena Laessig, UW-Eau Claire nursing students, and Gordon Wix, a 1994 UW-Eau Claire nursing graduate who served in Iraq, were quoted in the May 8 Marshfield News-Herald article "Nurse shares Iraq stories with students."
