Julie Adler submitted works by students from her English as a Second Language class, ESL 305-Advanced ESL Composition, into the Houghton-Mifflin ESL National Writing Contest. Students Rina Saito and Naran Munkhbat earned $100 grand prizes for their entries.

Manuel Fernández's interview with Cuban author Leonardo Padura Fuentes, "Entrevista con Leonardo Padura Fuentes," has been accepted for publication in the summer 2004 issue of Caribe, Vol. 6.1, pages 33-47.

Gary Schwartzhoff judged a choral festival, which included choirs from three Midwestern states, for Music in the Parks May 15 in New Prague, Minn.
