A public forum titled “Uniting the Chippewa Valley: Islam, Judaism, Christianity
— National and International Politics and Unity” will be held at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 17, in the Riverside Theatre of the Haas Fine Arts Center at the
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will include a panel discussion
followed by questions and answers. Panels members include: Dr. Ali Abootalebi,
associate professor of political science at UW-Eau Claire; Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed,
psychiatrist with Marshfield Clinic-Eau Claire Center; Dr. Leonard Gambrell,
chair of the political science department at UW-Eau Claire; Richard Hoyme,
senior pastor at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls; Mort Sipress, UW-Eau
Claire political science professor emeritus; and Danny Wheeler, military
chaplain, survivor of the Beirut conflict and pastor in Milltown. Kristin
Everett, consultant and director at Marketing Works in Eau Claire, will
facilitate the discussion.
