EAU CLAIRE Classes and scheduled
activities at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will continue today,
recognizing the importance of students, faculty and staff coming together to
offer one another support as today’s national tragedy continues to unfold.
“Everyone is confused, stunned and affected by
today’s events,” Chancellor Donald Mash said. “It’s extremely important
that we - as a campus community -- support one another, be it in a class, a
meeting or in informal conversation.
“We think that we can be of most help to all members
of the campus community by coming together as we struggle to deal with our
emotions during this time of crisis.”
Faculty are encouraged to conduct their classes in
such ways to offer support to students and other members of the campus
community, be that through conversation, gathering around a television or
whatever else they think is appropriate, Mash said.
UW-Eau Claire administrators will continue to monitor
the events and will provide additional updates via e-mail and the media as
appropriate.
