EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing
will hold a community program titled “Understanding Islam” from 7 to 9 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 8, in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Dr. Willis Gertner, professor emeritus of philosophy and
religious studies, will give an introductory lecture examining Islamic religion
and culture in the context of western civilization. Participants will learn
through both lecture and open discussion.
Gertner has taught courses on Islam and the Qur’an at
UW-Eau Claire and is an ordained clergy person of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America.
