Continuing Education to offer programs for human services professionals and community membersJune 27, 2014
EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education will offer two programs designed for clergy, counselors, nurses, nursing home administrators, social workers, case managers, psychologists, physicians, funeral directors, marriage and family therapists, caregivers, and those whose work relates to death, dying, grief or bereavement. The programs will be held at the Sleep Inn & Suites Conference Center in Eau Claire.
"Helping Adolescents Cope with Loss," the Hospice Foundation of America's 2014 Living with Grief program, will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 18. The program will explore ways that health care workers, social workers, educators and others can help adolescents cope with loss. The cost to attend is $49 per person or $120 per person when combined with "Ethics and Boundaries: End of Life Care" from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Sept. 18. "A Harbor in the Storm: The Power of Spirituality in Clinical Practice" will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sept. 25. The program will cover current trends and recent research relating to the healing benefits of faith, prayer, spirituality and mindfulness on body, mind and soul. The cost to attend is $119 per person. Professionals following the MPSW code will receive seven continuing education hours. Approval by the National Board of Certified Counselors is pending.
"A Harbor in the Storm: The Power of Spirituality in Our Health, Healing and Well-Being" will be presented by The Healing Place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 25.
