Three students receive philosophy and religious studies scholarshipsMay 19, 2014
EAU CLAIRE — Three students studying philosophy and religious studies at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire recently received scholarships through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation.
Kiana Veal, a sophomore religious studies major from Altoona, received the Bruce and Marlene Jannusch Global Awareness Scholarship, which provides $500 to support travel abroad in service of expanding awareness of other cultures.
Michael Doering, a senior religious studies and philosophy double major from Gleason, received the Willis and Betty Gertner Religious Studies Scholarship, which provides $1,000 in tuition assistance to a continuing junior or senior who has an overall and major GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Claire Malchow, a sophomore religious studies minor and organizational communication major from Appleton, received the Richard deGrood Study Abroad Scholarship, which provides $900 in support of costs associated with a semester of study abroad. The scholarship is available for a continuing sophomore, junior or senior philosophy or religious studies major or minor who has been accepted into the study abroad program and has a minimum overall and major GPA of 3.0.
