EAU CLAIRE — A University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student graphic designer received a first-place award in the 2014 graphics competition of the National Association for Campus Activities Northern Plains Regional Conference. Recognized for excellence in design, innovation and creativity, the winning entries were exhibited and the awards presented at the NACA regional conference April 3-6 in St. Paul, Minn.
Serena Wagner, Eau Claire, was awarded first place for the one-color poster she designed for a performance by Kenzie Joy and Open Stage in The Cabin, presented by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
Wagner is a UW-Eau Claire senior and a candidate for a bachelor of fine arts degree in graphic design. She is employed as a student graphic designer in the Activities, Involvement and Leadership office.
Activities, Involvement and Leadership is a unit of the University Centers and a longtime member of the National Association of Campus Activities, the nation's largest collegiate organization for campus activities. Formed in 1960, NACA links the higher education and entertainment communities in a business and learning partnership.
NACA Northern Plains includes schools primarily from Montana, Wyoming, Wisconsin, the upper peninsula of Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and western Ontario.
