EAU CLAIRE — Tickets go on sale April 14 for a concert by The Summer Set May 2 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show in the Ojibwe Ballroom of Davies Center.
The Summer Set is a pop-rock quintet from Scottsdale, Ariz., that has quickly become a phenomenon throughout the independent music scene. Formed by brothers John and Stephen Gomez as teenagers, the band released its first full-length album, "Love Like This" in 2009, and the sophomore album "Everything's Fine" in 2011. The band's rosy pop-punk has been heard on major television shows including ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" and MTV's "Jersey Shore," "10 on Top" and "The Hard Times of RJ Berger." The band's new album, "Legendary," available online and in stores, features the catchy single "Boomerang," which has received spins on Top 40 radio stations nationwide.
Tickets are $7 ($5 with a UW-Eau Claire student ID card) at the Service Center in the east lobby of Davies Center. The Service Center is open from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. weekends. Patrons may charge their tickets to Discover, MasterCard or Visa when they purchase online or order by phone.
